Charlie's very unlikely Street angels
by Rachel Broady2/ 6/2005
CORONATION STREET It's handy that Jerry
Springer is at Granada because families are at war on the
Street.
Bev turns up all guns blazin' while Shelley is in hiding with her
bruised face. Charlie walks out on Shelley, offended at the
suggestion, and of course she ends up on her knees begging him to
come home. She's joined on the warpath by Liz - with Deirdre not
far behind - determined to put the bullying builder in his place.
These women ain't Charlie's angels!
And, when Liz takes a man back to her place after dumping jailbird
Jim, she's seen kissing him goodbye by Steve. That lad's as loyal
as a puppy dog...and might have to be because Tracy wants to move
in with him.
Meanwhile, Sally is concerned about her new boss at the bakery
because he is over-friendly (funny, I thought that was a must for
the bored housewife). She ends up working (temporarily) for Dev so
here's hoping she doesn't do a Deirdre...because Sunita is
pregnant!
EMMERDALE Debbie goes into labour (is it me, or
has she only been pregnant for a fortnight?) and wanders off alone
to give birth. I doubt she's the first Dingle to give birth in a
ditch. The father, Andy, is oblivious and busy trying to woo posh
Libby but those shenanigans are soon ended and the farmer's
flirtation with aristocracy is over.
Meanwhile GI Jane, sorry Chas, is saying her goodbyes and Carl's
heart is being ripped in two (about time!).
Louise and Matthew disappear upstairs as poor Terry lies in a
drunken stupor on the settee and Val catches them. I think the
stocks should be brought back into the village for those two.
EASTENDERS It's a shocker.
Pauline has cheered up. Seriously! She manages to crack a smile.
But, of course, it's because she's sneaking to visit Chloe/Rebecca
behind everyone's back.
She's caught out by a social worker who will soon wipe that
malicious grin off her face.
