Soapbox: Now Charlie wants our Bev barred
by Rachel Broady16/ 6/2005
CORONATION STREET Shelley's still moping about
and, surprisingly, compassion fatigue hasn't kicked in with the
Rovers regulars. Charlie demands she bar her mum from the pub,
which reduces the increasingly bonkers barmaid to tears. Later
Charlie wants to reward her with a meal but she's too scared to
climb out from under her hideously red duvet cover and leave that
hideously orange room. It's like an internal organ. If you insist
on taking us in there, Shelley, decorate!
Meanwhile, Ciaran is in the background flexing his muscles and
providing a shoulder for Bev to cry on. That is, until Charlie
tells the less-than-bright barman about Shelley's "state of mind"
and asks for help.
Talking of stupid - Steve doesn't love Tracy, he just wants Amy and
apparently this "bombshell" shocks his mother. Anyway, he wants his
name on the birth certificate, not Roy's, but will Roy tamper with
an historical document? And can the man who couldn't even pull the
wool over Karen's eyes dupe Tracy so easily? I'm thinking
not.
EMMERDALE A social worker asks Zoë about her
losing two brothers.
Why? It's not like she intentionally lost them in the woods.
But Viv is behind the attempts to make the schizophrenic lesbian
vet look like a bad mother. Just lend her one of your 80s outfits,
Viv, that'll convince anyone she's loopy!
But, when Zoë decides Scott can't go with her to California after
all he lunges at her - and the Ketamine she injects into him
(having just prepared it for a horse) could be the thing that makes
her look irresponsible.
But Scott is critically-ill and I think we should all thank Zoë for
her contribution to better telly standards.
And when cat-a-like Dawn opens Scott's letter revealing his plans,
she decides to flee to Spain. Result!
Even more excitingly, Kelly Windsor returns to be at Scott's
bedside. You remember her? A would-be animal rights activist who
married Roy Glover, probably because he looked a bit like a sloth.
She's still proper rough and wastes no time in trying to seduce a
doctor over her half-brother's limp body.
EASTENDERS Sharon returns and is probably
wondering where her dad is. Well, he's been dead before so I'm sure
she'll cope.
Then Zoë makes a shocking revelation in the Vic leaving Chrissie
screaming for calm.
