Soapbox: Is Charlie's fate sealed with a kiss?

by Rachel Broady
7/ 7/2005

CORONATION STREET Shelley wants plastic surgery. You think she'd start by changing her clothes before working on what's inside them but at least the consultation gets her out of her room for a bit. And as her confidence plummets, repeatedly rejected Charlie snogs Violet.

She wants sacking that one! But when she's too embarrassed to go to work and hides at home, Jason convinces himself she's pregnant.

Meanwhile, Bev is trying to blacken the dodgy builder's name in Weatherfield after stealing paperwork from his office. Can she have any information that Dev hasn't already shared with the local shopkeepers?

Steve is keen to build bridges with Tracey (rather than see them at either ends of the Humber?) but she's busy fibbing that Steve's not Amy's dad and he's soon wishing he wasn't. She lets him think he can see Amy and then decides at the last minute that he can't, ooh she's a one.

And Scooter is a Womble on a mission to liberate the family's carp. Well, would you want to live near Gail?

EMMERDALE It's a sad time in the Village. It's Scott, you see...he regains consciousness. He's able to tell the police what happened and Zoë is charged with attempted murder.

And she should be sent down for failing! When he's up and about he tries to convince Dawn that he was conned by Zoë. She's a pussycat that one, or at least she looks like one.

Laurel is back and Ashley tells her he doesn't know the recipe to a proper relationship. Here's a tip, vicar, you don't take every woman in the village with a pinch of salt and then add a child.

And a new Dingle arrives in the form of Delilah who turns up in a wedding dress with a car full of presents.

A result for soap's best family!

EASTENDERS Sharon isn't as keen to leave the Square as Dennis. Again. Little Mo tells Alfie he must tell Kat their marriage is over. Again. Do you think they'll bring Reg Cox back form the dead? Why not? They've tried everyone else to revive this flagging soap!
