Uni move delay

CONFUSION surrounded the future of controversial plans to transfer 1,900 students to a site in Didsbury this week after college bosses failed to submit their proposals on time.

Senior figures at Manchester Metropolitan University had vowed that their plans for the site would be in the hands of planning chiefs at Manchester City Council by Monday, March 17.

   Many of us who work at the Gaskell site are both relieved and amused by the college's failure to meet the deadline. I would like to thank Frances Ives and followers for all their efforts. Also, a vote of thanks to Cllr. David Sandiford for supporting his community.
