Myles travels the world in search of love

SOME people will do anything for love.

And Myles O’Brien is prepared to travel 10,000 miles to a remote tropical Pacific island in a bid to find his perfect partner.

The nightclub promoter and former model, who lives on St Clement’s Road in Chorlton, is to take part in a reality TV show in Tahiti.

The show, called The Queen Been, to be screened on Channel Four in the spring, will see 16 contestants sent to the island to find out who becomes leader of group.

But Myles is hoping to take advantage of the romantic location to find love.

Myles, 28, said: "I’ve been single for a few months now, so it would be nice to meet a nice girl and get to know her.

"Who knows what will happen but it should be a lot of fun. I don’t have a particular type of girl that I go for, but I like sexy girls who have a bit of character about them and are good to chat to and have a laugh with."

Myles, who puts on club nights at the Lloyds Hotel in Chorlton and at Jam Street Cafe in Whalley Range, as well as management events in the city centre, will be on the French Polynesian island for up to a month.

He and the other seven male and eight female contestants will battle it out, hoping not to be voted off the island, with a prize of up to £100,000 being awarded to the winner.

And this is not the first time he has put himself out there in search of fun and frolics.

Two years ago he starred in another reality TV show, Fool Around With Your Mum. He spent a week living in a house in Bristol with four mothers, in a quest to date their daughters.

He won the prize of a week 4,000 miles away in Antigua with both the winning mum and daughter.

He said: "It was quite strange thing at first but luckily the mum was down-to-earth."

Myles and the winning daughter, a model called Katherine Russell, hit it off and dated each other for six months when they back home.

He said: "She was a lovely girl but I was living in Bath at the time and she was in London, so I had to do a lot of commuting.

"I guess going to Antigua was a long way to find love, and now I’m going even further, but if it works out, it’ll be worth it."
