Night we sang for Kesha

FRIENDS sang an emotional tribute to Kesha Wizzart during a concert in her memory.
One of the most poignant moments came during the performance of ‘Smile of an Angel’, a song written by one of her closest friends, Steve Grant, about what she meant to him.
Steve was joined on stage by several friends who attended Parrs Wood Sixth Form in Didsbury with Kesha, for the concert called ‘Night of the Divas’.
Kesha, 18, from Thelwall Avenue, Fallowfield, was an aspiring singer and had appeared on ITV’s Stars In Their Eyes when she was 15. She was murdered along with her brother Fred, 13, and mum Beverley Samuels last July by Pierre Williams.
A crowd of around 250 people, including members of their family, packed into the Zion Centre in Hulme to remember them. Kesha’s friends, many of whom are studying music at Trafford College, performed hits from artists such as Destiny’s Child, Mariah Carey and Christina Aguillera.
Steve Grant said: "Hearing my song performed for the first time and seeing the crowd’s reaction was really emotional. It truly was a celebration of Kesha’s full and happy life."
