Help police catch thugs

A YOUNG man managed to fight back when two vicious thugs forced their way into his home and assaulted him.

The assault and attempted robbery happened in West Didsbury at around 9.30pm on Tuesday, November 18.

The 27-year-old victim was watching television when he answered a knock on the door.

Two youths were there claiming to be looking for someone else - when the victim told them they had the wrong address they walked away.

Around half an hour later, the youths came back and forced their way into the property and punched, kicked and bit the victim until he managed to force them out of the house.

The offenders made repeated threats but eventually walked away.

Detective Sergeant Martin Levi from Elizabeth Slinger Road CID said: "This was a totally unprovoked and vicious assault, which left the victim with a number of serious injuries.

"We have no reason why this man was targeted, and it is vital that we trace these two offenders before they attack someone else who may not be able to fight back."
