Our heroic fundraisers

CHRISTIE'S is launching a massive new appeal that celebrates the generosity of the hospital's fundraisers.

Called Be A Local Hero, the new appeal, launched this week will get the message across that fundraisers are heroes because they give cancer sufferers more time to spend with their loved ones.

The campaign will run throughout March and into the beginning of April and will see television adverts and huge posters proclaiming the importance of fundraisers.

And Christie bosses want to make clear that everyone's donation, whatever the size, can make the difference in the fight against cancer.

Toni Leden, appeals director of Christie's against Cancer said: "There are thousands of people who raise money for the Christie Hospital in many different ways and they all make a huge contribution to its success. We want to focus on that, celebrate the work they are doing and urge more people to do the same."

"We want to encourage even more local heroes and there are plenty of opportunities to get involved in fundraising during 2004. You can find out more by visiting our website www.christies.org or calling the Appeals office on: 0161 446 3988."
