Ant and Dec are re-animated

TV stars Ant and Dec have signed a new deal to do the voices for kids' show Engie Benjy made by Chorlton animation studio Cosgrove Hall.

The pair have already provided their vocals for the previous two series of the pre-school show.

But this time Ant gets to speak his part. Ant had suffered a bit of a 'ruff' deal doing the barks for Jollop the dog while Dec stole the vocals as the main character Engie Benjy.

The pair told the Reporter they were jubilant about working with Cosgrove Hall, on Albany Road, again. They said "Engie Benjy is a fantastic show and we are both loving being involved with it."

"The Cosgrove Hall team are brilliant and great to work with."

A spokeswoman for Cosgrove Hall, AJ Read said: "After barking his way through two series we couldn't let Ant do just that again - so we have given him his own character. Ant will be voicing the character Trucker Troy, a Geordie truck driver."

In the magical world of Engie Benjy, planes creep out to have parties at night, buses get very tired and need holidays and ice lollies are grown in fields with the help of fruity fizz. Benjy and his friends help all the sick engines get over their problems - like hiccuping and not being able to get to sleep.

Ex-Family Fortunes host Les Dennis has also lent his voice to one episode, playing Astronaut Al and Pilot Pete.

The show is made using a mixture of CGI and traditional stop-motion animation.
