A FLORIST from Didsbury has landed her dream job - creating dazzling bouquets for stars like Hollywood couple Catherine Zeta Jones and Michael Douglas.

Katherine Shenton, 23, from Leopold Avenue in West Didsbury has just qualified from a two-year floristry course at City College and is preparing to begin her first full-time job - in Bermuda.

Katherine, who grew up in Northenden, is preparing to fly over to the sun-drenched island to work for the posh floristry company Designer Flowers.

Designer Flowers is popular with the rich and famous who holiday in Bermuda, and count the Douglases, who own a home there, as one of their top clients.

Katherine said: "Bermuda is a real luxury location, and lots of famous people live over there, who use the florists I'll be working for, like the Douglases. I am excited about possibly meeting famous stars, but I'm even more excited about starting the job. I expect to be making lots of exotic and luxurious displays."

"I used to work in car insurance, so this will be quite a change. I love flowers and being creative and knew I didn't want to spend my life stuck in an office. So I decided to re-train as a florist."

Katherine is just waiting for her visa to come through, and expects to be living her new life in Bermuda by the summer.

She added: "I've already got a big waiting list of family and friends all wanting to come out there and visit me."
