Mancunian Expats

13/ 6/2005

ARE you a former resident of South Manchester who has moved abroad and who wants to get back in touch with people still living in the town? Do you know of friends or family who have moved overseas and you want to try and track them down? Well here's your chance ...

In this new section, we're giving an opportunity for people who were parted when locals decided to make new lives overseas to make contact once again.

If you are an ex-pat, who wants to know the whereabouts of a pal or relative, send us the details and we'll post them up here. The same is true of locals - let us know if you want to get back in touch with a local who has left these shores. You never know - they might just visit this site, read your message and you could be reunited.

Alternatively, ex-pats can write to us simply if they want to let the folks back home know what they've been up to, how life overseas is treating them, and what they miss about South Manchester.

All you have to do to take advantage of this service is to write to us by clicking on the link below, making sure you include your name, contact details, e-mail address and current whereabouts, and we'll post the messages up on this section.

Hi, my name is chris nealon.I was born in burnage in Arbor Avenue in 1964.I attended st Bernards primary school from about 1969. The priests at the time I remember as fr Tangey and Arkwright. My mother and father, Cliff and Margaret Nealon used to have a fruit and veg shop on Burnage lane opposite the Victoria pub. We moved away and I got married and I am now living in New Zealand. I would love to hear from anyone connected with Burnage who might share some memories or even know me or my family.     Your publicity and marketing should try to push the "ex-pats" column a bit more. The last post was in January, and it is now almost April. No new posts, and no replies whatsoever. Any ideas??????
