Herd the one about escaped cattle in Chorlton?

IT WAS like a scene from the running of the bulls - only this wasn't Pamplona, it was Chorlton.
Drivers and residents were stunned as eight escaped cattle strolled through gardens and along roads. Six of the animals were quickly rounded-up by the farmer but two Welsh Black calves, worth £500, were loose for four hours after breaking free while being transported in a truck on Brookburn Road.
One appeared in the garden of Jacqueline Fletcher, 65, at her house on Peveril Crescent. She said: "I got a call from a neighbour telling me to look in my garden. I thought she was having me on but then I saw the poor thing I just felt really sorry for it."
Farmer Lloyd Jones later appealed for the return of six cattle - worth around £600 each - which are on the run.
According to police the animals were later recovered. But Mr Jones, who owns Norbury Farm in Hazel Grove insists six of his animals are still missing.
