1. November 29 2007

South Manchester Reporter, Thursday 29 November 2007
THE things we humans do eh? There are so many people walking around with things stuck in their ears that for a while I thought everybody, except me, had gone deaf and that the ear inserts were hearing aids. I couldn't understand why even young people had such bad hearing.

2. November 22 2007

South Manchester Reporter, Thursday 22 November 2007
PICTURE this: A low sun shining weakly through rain-sodden clouds, and the sulphurous smell of coal smoke from a thousand chimneys as the fumes drift slowly, grudgingly, apologetically, over the roofs of a south Manchester suburb.

3. Punks didn't make my day

South Manchester Reporter, Thursday 22 November 2007

4. Dreading a WKD summer

South Manchester Reporter, Thursday 22 November 2007

7. November 15 2007

South Manchester Reporter, Thursday 15 November 2007
BATHOS has always appealed to me - the juxtaposition of the profound with the banal, the sublime with the commonplace.

8. November 8 2007

South Manchester Reporter, Thursday 8 November 2007
MANY of you will be wearing a red poppy in tribute to the people who fought and fell in the interminable wars that have haunted our world since time immemorial.

9. November 1 2007

South Manchester Reporter, Thursday 1 November 2007
JAMES is on holiday this week and so in no way can be held responsible for any views, criticisms, put-downs or statements of a controversial nature liable to upset any religion, sexual grouping, ethnic minority, clan or visitors from far off planets. Body parts!

10. November 1 2007

South Manchester Reporter, Thursday 1 November 2007
ALL this stuff about Didsbury versus Chorlton. I’m sure the editor won’t agree with me, but I don’t think the two suburban villages are nearly as much at war with each other as those who do get their kicks from a bit of bickering would like to make out.
