REMEMBRANCE Sunday has been and gone yet the real date of the Armistice was the eleventh hour of the eleventh day. One happy event on this Remembrance Sunday was that Syd celebrated his 85th birthday. Syd was involved on a little trek through Normandy, France just weeks after the D-Day landings in 1944. Thankfully 'young' Syd survived to tell the tale although, just like many old soldiers, he never divulges the full horror of what he witnessed.
