DIDSBURY-BASED Burnage Metro FC have recently been awarded the FA Charter Standard for clubs.

The club, which continues to be an integral part of the South Manchester community, now fields seven teams.

Those include an under-18s outfit while Metro also boasts three junior feeder clubs and links with local schools.

Club chairman Maurice Perkins said: "We have been successful in the past few seasons on the pitch and now we are showing that we can also be successful off the pitch.

"The Charter Standard will allow use to continue to improve the facilities for the youngsters in the local community."
