ALTHOUGH the frost wiped out all the local rugby union first-team fixtures, some of the lower sides did play.

Broughton Park’s seconds made up for league defeat against De La Salle’s seconds with a Halbro Plate win over Chester’s thirds.

Bedians’ seconds exited the Halbro Trophy, losing 31-10 against Wirral’s thirds, but were 77-0 winners against Village Spartans in a league game.

There was also a 37-7 defeat for Bedians’ third team against Congleton’s fourths, following a previous loss against Stockport’s fourths.

Burnage saw their seconds beat Broughton Park’s thirds 38-0, while the fourths saw off Congleton 24-14.

Didsbury Toc H’s fourths beat Blackburn 29-12, the seconds won 17-5 at Ormskirk, also beating Holmes Chapel’s seconds 29-5, while the thirds defeated Liverpool St Helens 26-0.
