Loss for the leaders
20/ 3/2008
SOUTH West Manchester CC put some recent inconsistent form behind them with their finest win of the season, beating reigning South Manchester Log-End Darts League champions Albert Withington 5-2.
Second-placed St Crispins took full advantage of Albert’s demise, but they had to work hard for a 4-3 win over Lauriston Club.
That was the score by which Green End defeted Sun in September – John Glover Snr with a season’s best 15-darter – while Albert Park beat Carlton Club 6-1.
The slip-up winners were Albert Withington, Albert Park, Green End and Lauriston.
On the crib table the singles successes came from Albert Withington, Albert Park, Green End and St Crispins, while the pairs winners were Albert Withington, Carlton Club, Sun in September and St Crispins.
Albert Withington’s Neil Hunter struck an average of 71.52 as he made a winning debut in Lancashire B’s overall defeat against Kent.
