Set for semis

THE semi-final line-up for the Altrincham SFL’s Challenge Cup semi-final is now complete.

Lisbon St Anthonys and Chorlton’s Beech Sports have been joined by Vine Tavern and Old Alts who play a repeat of their recent Altrincham FA Cup semi-final.

Vine saw off division one side Pelican with a 6-0 win thanks to Akim Williams, Gary Owen, Martin Payne, Mo Mendez, James Liversedge and Dave Lawson.

It was much closer in the other tie, which went to penalties before Old Alts overcame Buck Inn.

Kevin Broderick, Tom Murphy and Leon Myers netted for Buck with McDonald (two) and McGeery replying for Alts who kept their nerve in the penalty shootout.

The only league game played was a Premier Division clash between AFC Sale Moor and Urmston Meadowside.

Meadowside won 4-1 thanks to strikes from Luke Kaylor (two), Dean Kaylor and Tim Marshall, Dave Hampson scoring the Moor consolation.
