LIVESEY Cup holders South West Manchester CC reached this year’s final after a 5-2 semi-final win over Sun in September, setting up a match against Albert Withington after their 6-1 cruise against Green End.
The crib final will be an ‘all-Albert’ affair after wins for Albert Park and Albert Withington.
Albert Withington’s hopes of retaining the title took a jolt after they lost 4-3 at lowly Lauriston.
Carlton Club were 5-2 winners over Sun in September, the match between second and third brought a 3.5-3.5 draw between St Crispins and Green End, while South West lost 4-3 against Albert Park.
Elsewhere, the slip-up winners were Albert Withington, Sun in September, Green End and South West.
On the crib table, the winners of the singles were Albert Withington, Sun in September, St Crispins and Albert Park with the crib pairs’ spoils taken by Lauriston, Sun in September, St Crispins and South West.
In the Stockport Darts League, South West lost 6-1 at Brinnington Labour but won the slip-up, while Green End lost a close game with Bulls Head.
Local star Andy Gourley beat Paul Whitworth in the Hydes Pub KO at the Kingsway, Burnage, as Ronnie Baxter gave a great exhibition.
