CHORLTON squash star Leah Molyneux is hoping to keep it in the family after going from strength to strength.
The 11-year-old, a pupil at Chorlton C of E School, looks set to keep up the high standards set by her elder sister Emma (16) and brother Ben (18) in the top echelons of squash in the region.
Leah has gone from strength to strength this season, ranked number one in the under-13s Lancashire Girls rankings and winning four major tournaments at the Northern Club in West Didsbury where she is coached by Peter Bilson.
Leah has represented Lancashire in several tournaments, and in her latest, she beat five boys to win the inter-county tournament.
Emma has kept up great progress in the sport, being voted young player of the year at the Northern and finishing fifth in the rankings for Cheshire Ladies, winning 11 matches and losing four, mainly to older professional players.
Emma also plays for the men’s fifth team at the Northern and has enjoyed considerable success.
Ben won the North West trophy at the Northern where he now trains new starters at squash and he has been accepted at Leeds University provided he gets his expected grades in PE, English and Sociology.
