Five in a row

3/ 7/2008

BOWLS: THE Lloyds Hotel maintained their Goodies Manchester Premier League title bid with a fifth consecutive victory, beating Garswood 10-4.5 and 197-142.

It was a bad day for home teams in division one of the Sale and District League as they all lost.

However, leaders Levenshulme continued to consolidate top spot and are now almost 100 chalks ahead of Fallowfield with the same number of games played.

Cringlewood A are not out of the hunt for second spot despite losing against Levenshulme, while basement club Chorlton earned their second win of the season with a surprise success at South West Manchester A.

Division two pacesetters Brooklands tasted defeat at promotion rivals Pickering, while second-placed Cringlewood B were well beaten at Longsight.

Elsewhere, wooden spoonists Carrington produced a good win against South West B.
