REIGNING champions Albert Withington got the second half of the South Manchester Log End League's season under way with a 7-0 romp at the Carlton Club.

The eight points sees them take over as table toppers from St Crispins - held to a 3-3 and a set draw by the Osborne. The Old House at Home are joint second alongside Crispins after a 4-3 win over South West Manchester Cricket Club A, having been 3-1 down at one stage.

Bottom side Lauriston Club pulled off a shock win in beating South West B 5-2 for only their second success thus far. The Derby returned to winning ways, defeating Royals 5-2.
