A splendid 5-2 win at reigning champs The Albert, Withington, saw the Old House at Home head the South Manchester Log-End League for the first time.

The title chase still remains a closely-run affair with four-and-a-half points separating Old House from Osborne, 4-3 winners over South West Manchester Cricket Club B.

Third-placed St Crispins won 4-3 facing the Derby for whom Mark Harries notched a league season's best ton.

Royals won 4-3 at South West as did the Lauriston Club at the Carlton Club.

Old House retained top spot in the team crib section virtue of a 5-0 Albert whitewash, Crispins and Royals pegged home 4-1 and South West B and Lauriston took the honours 3-2.
