AN evening of high drama in the South Manchester Log-End League saw Old House at Home, Ladybarn, crowned league champions and the Osborne lift the Livesey 301 KO Cup.

The Old House had to await a favourable outcome from Albert Withington's clash with the Royals before being assured of their first-ever league title.

Set the task of claiming eight points via a 7-0 win to force a play-off, the Albert fell agonisingly short at 6-1.

The Livesey final at the Lauriston saw the Osborne rally from 3-2 down against St Crispins to win 4-3.

Wins by Anthony Hargreaves, Tony Marshall and Pete Evans to replies from Bernard O'Sullivan and Dave Wells had put Crispins in the driving seat.

However, sterling efforts from veteran Bob Shepherd and anchorman rookie Keith Roberts saw Osborne home.
